Trip #1of 2015, 2-day on the Endeavor

Nervous excitement surrounds the boat as we all sign in the manifest and get ready to take off. The reports of Bluefin on the inside is sketchy at best and Mexican waters sound like a "miss". We opt for the North County grounds in search of Yellowfin tuna.

Long Ranger Bill Gets out the Flouro.

Deckhands Little John and Toby, talk it up with the MDR Pinhead

Mike checking gear

Terry and Keith, Knot Check

Jim and Mark Check out the bait well

Martin and Trent thinking positive.

Walt caught by surprise.

Andy getting ready for night patrol.

Fireworks send off!

As the night progressed the biggest worry was the bait. Will it live? Only time would tell as we load up on Sardine and head out for North county.

Nile starts us off with a nice Dodo

Jarrod Boats a beauty

Mike Bendo!

Trent getting' happy!

Nile gets another

Bill shows us how its done.

The clouds clear for the afternoon as we finally hit a school that wants to bite. With only a few fish boated the feeling is intense as each of us try not to loose the one we hung!

The shear bliss of a tuna on the other end.

At Gaff

Tom going through the Paces

Jimbo gets one on. First time tuna fishing and digging it.

Double Bendo!

Keith here with a nice Yellowfin, after a good fight. Finicky biters and they didn't want to come to the boat!

One of the greatest things see on the trips isn't new gear or giant fish. It's Dads handing down a life passion to the next generation. Both for son and father the Exhilaration of "the chase" defines a part of their relationship, and will forevermore. We encourage all to bring a youth, and join in              "The Chase".

Martin and Kevin.

Heavy? Kevin thinks so.

NILE and nile

Mid-Day tuna count.

Through the afternoon the bite slowed, but just as the sun was going down............

Someone once told me you can't catch tuna on a long rod. He lied.

Happy to be "hanging" around Roy?

Not the biggest fish in the sea, but big enough for Jackpot.
Roy with a beauty.

Line em up

Jimbo's first Yellowfin Tuna!

The next morning and on to the day was a slow tough bite. We trudged through the numerous schools of breaking fish and picked to a few. By the end everyone caught a fish.
All Smiles!

Deep Color!

Gotcha!

Happy days!

Terry with a nice and bloody one!

Good friends and good fishing!

At the end a frustrated Jimbo didn't give up. He fished hard and came up with this bull.
Jackpot on the second day too!

The End.

Overnight Charter on the Endeavor....BFT

Searching for BFT

We hear the word of Wind and swell and are in hope of clean water, but we know it is a Crap shoot with Mother Nature. The Bite has been slow, but this Exploratory trip is a necessary one to find out how the Tuna are going to react, and if there is any change in their behavior.

Here is our deck crew Troy, John, and Tony. All smiles as we put caution to the wind and get ready to set sail after Bluefin Tuna.
