Summer Rockfishing in Marina del Rey

Jack pot Ling Cod
This Year Has been  a strange year for the local 1/2 day fishing in Marina del Rey. No Barracuda, no Sand Bass to speak of. All year we've had a great time slaying the Rockfish!!!??? Yes in Marina del Rey! Pictured here with a nice keeper Ling Cod,  couple of Vermillion Rockfish (aka: Red Snapper) and a Wolf Eel (one of my favorite sea creatures to eat).

Here is a larger model of the ugly fish contest winner. This Ling was caught a month later and didn't even win the JackPot! Still a nice specimen of the Ling's we've been catching.

It's like a mixed bag of fun! White fish, Johnny Bass, Ling Cod, Eel, Starry Eyed Rockfish, and Red Snapper. A veritable cornicopia of fish.

This is the biggest yet of the year for me, 15.5 lb Ling Cod. Ugly but tasty. Come join me as the Rock fish season will soon be closed and the Sculpin attack begins!
