2016 Fresh Fish Charters 2 day offshore Trip #0
The idea or temptation to chase the Big Bluefin offshore is a great one for those who have never caught a 100 pounder in local waters. Crashing the surface, creating the "boil" we love to see. Bird schools benefit from the frenzy of bait fish being chased up to break the waters barrier. It seemed to be the only game in town. Low counts were shouting the fact that "This could be the trip of a lifetime, or a long two days at sea."

Ready for War the Riggings on the rail showed that we were at least hopeful.
Marina Del Rey locals came to see what all the fuss was about.
The first day met us with overcast skies and no wind.
Captain Cameron put us through some nice kelps and the bite began!
We boarded 35 Yellowtail, 10 under 10 pounds , but the rest up to 25! Hearing the other boats cry on the radio as they chased the illusive Bluefin, we made the right call and scored on the Mossbacks!

Day one, we finish with a nice catch of Yellowtail. The afternoon was a zero fish bluefin tuna chase. "Foamers" everywhere and we found the rumors to be true. Not one bite all afternoon.
Day 2
Sunrise on the Pacific Ocean and the hunt begins again.

Once again Cameron put us on the spots!

End of day two and the counts were good. We had boated 125 Yellowtail and 10 Bonita for the two days total. Saved by the biting yellowtail on the kelp.

| This trip the youngest of our group was 13 year old Nick Garcia. A regular on the Marina Del Rey boats, this was his first overnight! congratulations Nick you handled everything well and socked it to some "tails"! |
